Ryan Houk started in martial arts at the age of 9. Mr. Houk holds an Instructor Status Black Belt in American Ninjutsu as well as a black belt in Kihido Karate. He also has an Advanced Instructor rank, in Hock Hochheim’s Force Necessary course.
Aside from these ranks, he has studied western boxing, Keysi Fighting Method, parkour, and several other martial arts. He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Tarrant County College.
Jay received his fourth degree black belt in Aikido in 2014, associated with the Mid-America Aikido Federation. Jay holds a first-degree black belt in American Ninjutsu. He has also trained in several martial disciplines over his career including Boxing, Karate, Wing Chun and Systema. Jay believes that it is fundamental to teach students realistically, so they are able to react spontaneously when placed in a reality-based situation. Jay started his martial arts training in 1975 and continually draws on his background to adapt training to meet the diverse challenges of all students.
